Richard is a really cool guy. Al and Ed’s does amazing work at a very fair price. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my car electronics. The best and most fair in Santa Monica

nice guys. they put a kenwood apple carplay in my older 2007 sl55 r230 mercedes . i asked a facebook forum what components i needed and i bought a Meta Harnessing case, crux vehicle integration and digital thing before arriving. i purchased the kenwood 5710s from them and they installed it. car finally feels modern and pairs well with my 600hp and full grain leather. thanks richard and team!

My Viper car alarm had locked me out of starting my car. Had it towed to Al & Ed's after talking with them on phone about my situation. Said module needed to be replaced...which at first seemed wrong but I brought it in as I needed my car. The technician immediately was able to start the car. I asked him what he did...he said he couldn't tell me and it was just for emergencies. I asked if they could just reset the alarm. They said module bad and this could be an ongoing problem. I told them to just remove entire system. The next day I called Viper and they said there is a reset button under the dash and as long as remote was working (it was) system should be fine. Why didn't Al and Ed's tell me this. We could have easily tried things out. They just wanted to either install a new system or get paid ($125) to remove what I believe was a working alarm. A little unprofessional and unethical in my opinion

Richard gave me a great deal on installing a new apple car play system and backup camera on an old used car I bought. Him and the technician were straightforward, friendly, trustworthy, and explained everything they did. It’s hard to know which mechanic or electrician to trust, but based off my experience, I would highly recommend going to the shop and if I need anything else done I will certainly go back!

Terrible place. So disappointed with this store. I’ve been to other Al and Ed’s in Los Angeles and was surprised when I found this one I. West LA based on the good name Al and Eds carry I gave this place a shot. They told me they’d be able to install a touchscreen on my car. This took place Friday afternoon, by Saturday evening, they told me they weren’t able to do it, blamed my car, blamed the head unit I took. I told them to leave it as is and I’ll take my car back. The owner wanted me to pay full price even though he didn’t install the radio. In order for him to release my car, I had to give him 100 dollars. On Monday I took it to Santa Monica car sound and window tint and they installed the touchscreen. Terrible place. The techs are nice guys but novice at best! If you need something done that may be a more complex install, DO NOT GO HERE! I’ve posted photos of my touchscreen that the other place installed!
