I'm a long time customer of Bob's Muffler and have given them a positive review in the past. They've done an entire exhaust system on my 2010 Ford F150 Raptor and put a mild/medium muffler on my wife's Lexus GX460. Also lots of miscellaneous exhaust work in between. This last Monday I once again took a new to me vehicle (2020 Tacoma V6) in for a little less restrictive muffler. After some discussion, I (we) decided on an 18" DT free flow muffler, intended to result in a little rumble and less back pressure. Unfortunately, it was a bit too loud and had some minor drone on the highway. I went back on Thursday asking to go to the 24" version of the same muffler. My intent was to ask Kim (Manager) to slide me a bit on price, understanding the primary responsibility was mine. She would not hear of it. She swapped the mufflers out, charging me a small labor fee. I actually asked her to take more money. She declined, saying she wanted me happy, period. THIS is the reason good businesses survive and thrive. This is the third time I have used Bob's Muffler. I live in Tehachapi and all three times I had to tow my car there I sent Kimberly the manager texted pictures and all three times she knew exactly what I needed. SHE WAS PROFESSIONAL AND KIND ALL THREE TIMES. The price is second to none the work second to none. Even the people sitting in the chairs waiting where saying there is no place like Bob's. Tehachapi muffler shop wanted to charge me 150 dollars more thus time and 300 total the other two times. GO TO BOB'S THEY ARE ARE A 5 STAR ALL DAY LONG.

I’m extremely disappointed with this shop and would not recommend them. After hearing a rattling noise coming from my truck, I called them about the issue with the catalytic converter, and they installed one that turned out to be defective. It initially passed smog, but shortly after, the rattling continued and now I have a check engine light on. When I brought it back to have it addressed, they refused to take responsibility and instead blamed it on my vehicle “running lean.” This makes no sense, especially after another mechanic looked at it and confirmed the catalytic converter itself is the problem. I was also told that several other customers have had similar issues with parts installed by this same shop. Instead of standing behind their work or even attempting to resolve the issue, they dismissed it completely. Poor workmanship, no accountability, and terrible customer service. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else.

Took my 350z in to get an exhaust leak fixed, I asked the manager and mechanics if I could just upgrade my exhaust system entirely. I happened to ask a few hours before they closed and they made sure I was taken care of given the tight window for install. They were helpful, friendly, and the mechanic even called me over a few times asking how I would like my exhaust installed. Price out the door was very reasonable.

Update: Came back almost 2 years later for a resonator delete, kept scraping ever since I lowered it 4 inches. They removed it & replaced it with regular piping, no questions asked. Another 5 stars 😆 I have known this place for years and my family has always gotten their exhaust systems replaced here. I got my 1997 Honda Civic's new exhaust system installed here and it was a challenge for the person to make it custom fit. He managed to make it fit perfectly!
