One of the worst shops in town. They’ll seize any opportunity to take advantage of customers. I brought my SUV in after it had been sitting for a few months because it was shifting hard in 2nd and 3rd gear. I had it towed to Dave Wilkes’ shop. Three days later, they called and said, “We’re sorry, but we couldn’t find any issues with your vehicle — it’s ready for pickup.” Right away, I knew something was off. When I got inside my SUV, there was no mechanic’s mat on the seat or floor — something every legitimate shop uses. The interior didn’t have that typical “worked on” smell either. It was obvious no one had actually been inside my vehicle, let alone test-driven it like they claimed. In the end, they took $600 from me and sent me on my way without doing a thing. They didn’t even honor my Auto Club discount. Shady business all the way around. If you want a shop that actually knows what they’re doing and treats customers right, check out DMC Transmissions off Seaward Avenue in Ventura. They do amazing work.

I unfortunately had a terrible experience at this shop. I went to pick up my vehicle after being told it was ready after repairs. Unfortunately, driving away, I realized multiple electrical components were not behaving properly. Let me preface by saying the work they actually did was well done in the means of my original problem was fixed. However, I ended up with 3 additional things that needed to be fixed that I didn’t come into this shop with. When I brought these things to the shops attention, they responded with dismissive and condescending comments. They immediately went on defense and did everything to “prove it wasn’t their fault” instead of doing anything to fix the problems. I’ve never experienced an issue so awfully handled as a customer at a shop. I left the shop paying more than $2000 for repairs, but ended up with more stress and more problems. I will not be returning

The place is top notch, shows they have been around a few decades. Very clean business with all the equipment they can need. Staff is awesome, friendly, and professional. They left my Nissan ready to ride.

They have rebuilt 2 of our vehicles transmissions (drove one all the way from the Central Valley to have them work on it because of their loyalty to customers). Currently, rebuilt transmission on a truck of ours and then the engine went out. They have helped us by storing the vehicle until we have the money to get the engine fixed. Talk about going above and beyond! They do fantastic work backed by warranty that is honestly, stellar. They are very kind, genuine, and caring as these are big ticket items; very compassionate and I appreciate that.

If there was a notch above "Top Notch" that is exactly where I would classify Dave and his team of courteous and dapper professionals! I was "fortunate" enough to have a major transmission failure in the middle of a 1500 mile trip around the western US. Luckily I was referred to Dave, and happened to be less then a mile away from his shop. Dave was quick to get my truck diagnosed and gave me a complete and comprehensive run down of what options I had to get my truck back on the road. Each of the shop crew that I came in contact with was in the loop and on point with what was going on with my truck, which really impressed me. Usually with my experience at other shops, its like pulling teeth to get anyone that knows whats going on with the repair.. Dave shop in itself is a fine tuned and well oiled machine! With a team of experts each working together to provide service at a top tier level! Upon pickup Daves expert transmission re-builder Cliff was more then happy to show me the old parts from my truck. He passionately explained to me in detail what went wrong and what repairs and improvements they made to ensure that my truck would be back up and towing in tip top shape and more
