Really disappointed. Haven’t used ECM in a few years but brought in a 2.4L Honda head recently, about to install it, and now I have the following issues before it goes back into the car: 1) There are burrs on the cylinder head at different coolant and oil ports that I had to strike down with a blade. These burrs could have damaged the new head gasket or created height between the block and head and caused problems. 2) The head was painted silver, which is fine, except when it causes problems. The spray paint was sprayed on every single side of the head. Including the machined surface and the valves. Sure this would’ve burned off, except, the machined surface was already dirty, definitely not installation ready, and when I try to clean it with brake cleaner I’m just dissolving the paint and spreading the spray paint around on the machined surface. 3) The spray paint is visible inside the head on the valve stems. This is pretty concerning. 4) There is spray paint on the gasket surfaces on the sides of the head, and the paint is already partially bubbling/peeling so now I have extra work to do removing and cleaning gasket surfaces that shouldn’t have been touched. 5) There is spr

Took my Rare 1.6L ZC Honda Civic engine to get the block and head worked on. Not only did they do an amazing job, but their price point was fantastic and the work they put in was simply outstanding. They even cleaned a few parts that I needed to get freshened up for no cost. After installing the engine, everything was to specification and I haven't had a single issue with the internals.

Resurfaced my Subaru heads. And tested the Valves for $85. They were very busy so it took a couple days. But seems to be a decent job.

I'm your typical DYI guy with above average automotive skills and knowledge. I'm also on a pretty tight budget and paying the going shop rate to work on my '04 Ford F150 4x4 - isn't an option. Especially when you need a complete engine rebuild. Uuggh !!! Thankfully, a local mechanic i know ( that's very hesitant to give referrals) referred me to ECM and recommended I talk to them before putting on the coveralls. Turned out to be a very wise choice. Ed has been my go-to guy, and handled most of my purchases and has offered some much needed advice throught the process, especially when it came to purchasing the engine components. They understood I had a budget and helped me save a buck$ whenever possible, and made sure i didnt compromise when it really counted. Now that they have ground, honed, bored, tapped, dipped, blasted, mic'd' and aligned whatever needed to be done on my engine block, I'm on my way to pick everything up and begin the rebuilding process.. They are a well respected shop and have earned the respect of the local mechanics and are still willing to help a DYI like myself. That's hard to find in today's competetive world.
