This review is long overdue, and I should have written it much sooner for Motortech Auto Repair. James is truly the go-to guy for all things auto. Him and his team/family provide top-tier service and consistently do amazing work. I first started bringing my personal vehicles there about 5 years ago after a tow truck operator highly recommended Motor Tech, and I’ve never looked back. Their honesty, reliability, and quality of work stood out immediately. I eventually recommended Motor Tech Auto to my employer as a trusted fleet mechanic shop, and for the past 4 years they’ve kept our vehicles serviced, taken care of, and consistently on the road without question. I’ve also referred family and friends any chance I get whenever someone asks for a reputable auto shop. At this point, it genuinely feels more like family than just a business relationship. Great people, great service, and a shop you can truly trust.

I’ve been taking my vehicles to Motor Tech Auto Repair for a while now for regular maintenance, and I can’t recommend James enough. A friend originally introduced me to him, and he’s become more than just my mechanic—he’s genuinely a friend who looks out for his customers. He always does a fantastic job and is incredibly fair and honest. He recently helped me out with a part for my Fiat, and the service was top-notch as always. It’s rare to find that kind of reliability and dedication in the auto industry. If you’re looking for a reliable mechanic in Oakland, look no further than Motor Tech. I’ve found them to be consistently honest and transparent about what needs to be done. They are always helpful, take the time to work with you on your car's needs, and their prices are very fair. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants quality service without the stress.

The team at motor tech resurrected my Honda Pilot after a fruitless ten weeks of dealing with the Honda service center San Leandro, Honda service center in Oakland, and Honda Motors directly. Awful experience with selling for salvage the only reasonable solution despite open recalls. Really shakes my faith in the brand I’ve trusted for 30 years. I reached out to James as a last ditch attempt, and his expertise was impressive. Motor tech went above and beyond to fix the engine, and even made additional repairs for discovered issues at parts pricing or no cost. Their work = one less car in the junkyard. Highly recommend for major repair issues!

Jay and His Crew is the best. They Installed my brakes calipers cover, mud-flaps and made sure car is in pristine condition before they call me to pick it up. They know their stuff when it comes to my Tesla 2023 Model Y. Highly recommended. Price was very reasonable and the shop is welcoming for any customers.
