I had Sam’s Auto Service perform a pre-purchase inspection on a 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Sam did a thorough, professional inspection and took the time to walk me through everything he was looking at. He was even able to check the health of the hybrid battery, which gave me real peace of mind. He identified an area that had been scratched and repainted, confirming there was no underlying body damage. He also showed me underneath the car where the fender liner had been damaged—things I never would have noticed on my own. What I appreciated most was that he explained everything clearly without rushing me or trying to upsell anything. Fast, knowledgeable, honest, and dependable. If you’re buying a used car, I highly recommend having Sam inspect it first. It was money very well spent.

One of the best auto repair experiences I’ve had in Modesto! I came to this shop while traveling long distance and was under serious time pressure, with only a few hours available. Despite being very busy, Sam and the team went out of their way to fit me in and quickly inspect my vehicle without any delay. Sam was honest, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He clearly explained everything and made sure my car was safe and ready for the road. That level of trust and transparency is rare in the auto repair industry. The entire staff was friendly, respectful, and very efficient. Pricing was fair, transparent, and reasonable for the quality of service provided. If you are looking for a trustworthy, fast, and high-quality mechanic in Modesto, this is definitely one of the top shops I recommend. I will absolutely come back again whenever I’m in the area.

I went to Sam’s auto shop for a quote on some repairs, including an ac inspection/repair, front cv axel repair on both sides, and a transmission fluid dump and fill. Sam was professional and told me all the details upfront. The final price came out to 1732.34, which I felt was very fair considering all the parts and labor. The car is working perfectly and my ac is better than ever. I will definitely be coming back if I ever need something again. Thank you Sam and team.

Sam's is the 3rd shop to do a diagnostic on my little car. My experience prior was a headache to say the least, with never a solution just a list of possibilities. I really felt like no one was listening to me or even trying to help me. Just honestly felt i was just "kicking the can down the road". Sam's was recommended so I figured what's the worst to happen at this point, we're rounding 7 months of a new engine code or warning on my dash with a lot of well maybe it's this or it could be that and fingers crossed. Drop my car of for my diagnostic first thing in the morning. Sam listened to my issues and he spoke to me in a manner that made what he was saying easy for me to understand! By lunch time i had a quote and given every single thing he found wrong with my car after putting it on the lift. He is very through in his work with a rather quick turn around. He records and has pics with the old parts to show you which is wonderful. My car runs better now than it ever has and I bought a previous rental that apparently had issues from the start. Things I believed were normal at the time of purchase apparently were not. Sam saved me a tremendous amount of money and headache. Go see S

Amazing shop, I brought my vehicle in for a check engine light and front end noise, they did a full inspection no cost and then broke down each issue based on Importance and of course price to make an affordable plan over a few visits if needed. When I picked up my car, Sam went over everything they did with photos and went above and beyond by doing extra things without charge. Incredibly impressed with everyone there. This shop feels how it should be, an affordable, reputable family.
