I had my transmission replaced here, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. The staff was extremely friendly, professional, and kept me informed throughout the entire process. They worked efficiently and got my vehicle back on the road much sooner than I expected. It’s hard to find a shop that’s both honest and reliable, but this place exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them to anyone needing transmission work or vehicle repairs!

Very disappointed with my experience at Universal Transmission Repair. My family and I paid approximately $4,500 for a transmission repair, which we had to finance through a loan because we were told the vehicle needed to be picked up promptly. We took on this financial obligation expecting a reliable and safe repair. Unfortunately, only one week after the repair, my wife was driving on a busy downtown highway when the vehicle suddenly lost power and stopped in the middle of traffic. This was a frightening and dangerous situation that could have resulted in a serious accident. We were fortunate that several Good Samaritans stopped to help push the vehicle to a safe location. Afterward, the owner informed us that the torque converter installed during the repair was defective. While defective parts can happen, it is extremely frustrating to experience a major transmission failure so soon after spending $4,500 on a repair. To make matters worse, we were later told that if we did not pick up the vehicle, storage fees of $35 per day would be charged. I took my 2016 Jeep Patriot to Universal Transmission because I was getting U0101 trouble code which means the Transmission Control Module is bad. I dropped off the vehicle 1/05/2026 at Universal Transmission shop at 9242 Westpark Dr. Josh (Manager) called me back that same day to confirmed the TCM was bad and needed to be replace. He said it was going to cost me $1,399.19. The following day I went to pickup my vehicle and paid Universal Transmission $1448.16 which it included 3.5% credit card transaction fee. As I was driving off the lot the vehicle started having the same problems as before. I went back to shop and told Josh that my vehicle was still having same issues as before they fixed it. He claims it could be something else. Come to find out they replace the wrong part in the vehicle. They replace Powertrain Control Module (PCM) instead of the Transmission Control Module(TCM). They refused to make it right and now I'm having to dispute the charge with my credit card company and had to take my vehicle to Gillman Dealership to get TCM replace. Don't ever bring your vehicle for service to this shop unless you want to end up like me.

PSA PSA!!! Do not come to the place for transmission work, the manager is so rude half the time does not even remember who car is getting work on. The corporate will over charge you on service. There are other shop that will give you a better price. Oh this company is not affiliated with BBB it’s a lie please check out their reviews! I’m sure that the manager will not repair my car properly after this post. The worst customer service ever!!!
