I just had a fantastic experience at Custom Sounds. Gus is amazing! Not only is he knowledgeable on the latest products, he can put a package together that suits your needs and without trying to upsell you. Technicians do amazing work.

I’m leaving two stars because I paid for the top of the line tint job over $600 to remove my old tint and add the best of the best. There were several things I noticed. 1. They said they’d call me when the car was done. They never called me and I ended up calling them in the afternoon and they acted like it had been done for some time but never made any effort to call or let me know. 2. Damage. Their team damaged some of the soft trim on the interior of my windows. I brought this to their attention immediately when I got the car as it was the first thing I noticed. 3. Bubbles. Paying top tier money I would expect no bubbles or warping anywhere from a poorly done job. I brought all this to their attention and they said they would get back to me and they never did. I would not bring a nice luxury car here and I would not spend the money I did again.

Fair pricing and quality work. Custom Sounds has been around forever and with good reason. On a recent visit I had the pleasure of working with Ed. I brought my 2017 BMW X3 in with a non-working LED control panel screen and an aftermarket replacement screen I got off Amazon. We agreed that there'd be no warranties or promises due to the fact of me bringing in my own parts. Ed gave me an estimate of 2-3 hours and stuck to that timeframe to complete the work. He didn't even mind when I shared some YouTube videos with him that showed the process for disassembling the dashboard panel frame around the inset screen. Don't take it to the dealership! Bring it in to Custom Sounds and tint, and ask for Ed!

I wanted to recognize the team at Custom Sounds on San Pedro for the outstanding work they recently did installing a Hertz stereo system in my 2025 Harley-Davidson Road Glide. From the start, Gus' product knowledge and professionalism stood out. He took the time to explain the options, helped me choose the right Hertz components for my bike, and clearly knew his craft. It’s rare to find a shop that combines that level of technical expertise with genuine customer service. The installation itself was done quickly and with great attention to detail. The turnaround time was impressive (1 day), and the finished result exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is incredible, and everything was installed cleanly and professionally. Walked into Custom Sounds on San Pedro early in the week, and Gus immediately made me feel comfortable — no pressure, no upsell. He recommended the perfect speaker fit for my ‘08 Lexus roadster and when I mentioned I preferred to go wireless, he suggested Kenwood monitor with receiver which can support up to four wireless cameras. Even with an add on 3-year warranty, I saved over $2,000 compared to another shop’s quote! Gus squeezed me in same-day. Despite a delay from another complex job, they stayed late to make sure I left with my new system, replacing my old Mark Levinson setup. Ed, my installer, has 30+ years of experience and it showed. My car wasn’t easy to work on, but he tackled every challenge and replaced my crackling speakers & upgraded my audio system. Though after many attempts, the steering wheel buttons couldn’t be integrated, Ed was upfront and explained limitations with Lexus setup. Both Gus and Ed were phenomenal — professional, knowledgeable, and transparent. No surprise why 8 out of 10 people told me to go here, and I’m so glad I listened. They did not disappoint! Bonus: the waiting area is really nice too.
